What is “Family Time”?
Would you say, it’s quality time or quantity of time?
What if it is simply shared moments or experiences together as a family? The most important aspect of “family time” is being present mentally, emotionally, and physically with your family to share in an experience together.
The most important shared “family time” is the time you pass your faith in Jesus Christ onto your family. Have you ever shared your faith story with your family? Have you ever read scripture together, or sang worship songs together? Have you ever prayed a blessing over your children?
Several years ago I read Deuteronomy 6:4-7. I have read the passage before, but something stood out different this time. In the passage, Moses lays out a strategy passing faith on to our children.
Talk about and live out your faith in Christ when…
“You sit at home”…(meal time)
“You walk along the road”…(drive time)
“You lay down”…(bed time)
“You get up”…(morning time)
Begin reading the Deuteronomy 6:4-7 passage for yourself and think of ways you can creatively share your faith in Christ to your family.
