What is your quitting point?
Think about it!
Have you ever gone into something with the resolve, no matter what happens I will not quit until…?
Many times we let quitting decide for us. This can cause us to quit too soon or stay too long.
I have seen people quit working on a project because it was too hard to figure out. It wasn’t easy or it didn’t bring instant gratification. They have the spirit of, “when the going gets tough, I’m done.”
On the other hand, I have seen “when the going gets tough, the tough keep going” spirit. People dig their heels in and stay way too long in an organization or project that caused more harm than good.
Imagine what would happen if you determined your quitting point.
Seth Godin in his book “the dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When To Quit (And When To Stick),” talks about determining when you will quit before you get started. Godin writes, “Strategic quitting is a conscious decision you make based on the choices that are available to you.”
